LightSaver® is a single-use sensor that clips onto the oxygen mask or airway device already on the ward and lights red the moment breathing stops. No network. No training. No new kit.
Concept visualisation
Green while breath flows. Red when it stops.
A ward patient is typically observed every four to six hours. A respiratory arrest kills in minutes. Nurses cannot watch everybody all of the time, so the patients most at risk are the ones on oxygen with nobody looking.
Opioid analgesia after surgery depresses breathing. Recovery and surgical wards run on intermittent observations, not continuous monitoring.
A patient with an airway intervention on a general ward has no continuous breath assurance once they leave theatre or intensive care.
Long waits leave oxygen-dependent patients on trolleys and in corridors, unobserved for hours at a time.
Continuous monitoring such as capnography and pulse oximetry is, in most hospitals, confined to theatres and intensive care. The general ward has nothing that watches breath itself.
LightSaver is designed to do one thing so simply that it can go on every mask, in every bed, on day one. A light on the mask itself, visible from the corridor, tells the nearest person that this patient needs them now.
